Q: What is CodeMix?

A: CodeMix is an Eclipse plugin that gives you access to the power of Visual Studio Code and the vibrant Code OSS extension community, directly from Eclipse. With CodeMix, you’ll enjoy all the enterprise tooling you depend on, like Java and Spring, plus access to all those cool web languages and exciting new technologies you’ve been wanting to try. In addition, CodeMix includes all of the awesome features available in Webclipse. As a result of this merging of technologies, Webclipse has been rebranded as CodeMix.  

Q: Do I need a new license key to use CodeMix if I already have a license key for MyEclipse or Webclipse?

A: CodeMix works with existing paid licenses for MyEclipse Professional and higher, and Webclipse (which includes Angular IDE).

Q: How do I use CodeMix with MyEclipse?

A: Add the CodeMix plugin to your existing MyEclipse installation (version 2017 or higher).

Q: How do I use CodeMix with Webclipse?

A: CodeMix is the next generation of Webclipse. Simply download CodeMix and it will include all of your favorite Webclipse features.

Q: Will CodeMix be bundled in Angular IDE?

A: Yes! Angular IDE includes CodeMix, there is no need to download CodeMix separately.

Q: What will happen to Webclipse now that CodeMix is coming out?

A: CodeMix is the next generation of Webclipse. Since this was a major architectural change, the initial CodeMix release was a technical preview installed as a separate Eclipse plugin. With the release of CodeMix 2, CodeMix replaced Webclipse. As always, upgrades are included with your existing paid license—no additional purchase required.

Q: How do I get CodeMix via Secure Delivery Center (SDC)?

A: If you have MyEclipse, Webclipse or Angular IDE delivered via SDC, you can simply install CodeMix as a Third-Party Library and use with current licensing. For basic Eclipse or JetBrains management, licensing can be added as an upgrade. Contact sales@genuitec.com.

CodeMix SDC packs are in private testing. Contact sales@genuitec.com if interested in using CodeMix or Angular IDE more efficiently with SDC packs.

Q: Are there any resources to help me get started?

A: The CodeMix Learning Center is a great place to get answers to your questions. The Getting Started with CodeMix page includes a nice overview of the features you’ll want to be familiar with before diving into CodeMix. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, visit our support forum. And lastly, new to CodeMix 3 is eLearning, interactive tutorials to help you get started with new technologies.
