Mikelv001MemberOk….
I need to add a map with 70 custom markers. I’ve reviewed the help info, downloaded the sample map with 2 custom markers, and I have no problem adding markers to that sample screen via adding lines to the custom js file. Where I have a problem is adding the map to an existing app with multiple screens. Let’s say screen 1 is the main screen, and screen 2 is the map screen that one navigates to from screen 1. For the simplicity of discussion, the app has other maps, so I renamed the map on screen 2 as ‘map2’, and added the screen marker lines to the screen 1 custom js file, making the change from ‘map1’ to ‘map2’. When I run the screen 1 in the test center, and nav to screen 2, the markers do not appear. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your help –
Mike
Mikelv001MemberWayne and Octavio-
I sent in a zip file of my latest app that is complete but for my map problem. Actually it’s not really a problem; I just don’t know the right code and I’m sure you can fix it in 3 seconds. Please let me know if you received the file; as always thank you for your help-

Mikelv001MemberGood Morning Wayne and Octavio-
Have you had a chance to look at the app I sent in, and do you think you’ll have time to help?
Thank you 🙂

support-octavioMemberHi Mike,
Please take a look at this example -I modified the showMarkers-example, I added a main screen and split the marks in original map in both maps in the secondary screens. Hope this helps you.
Let me know if you have any doubt.

Mikelv001MemberHi Octavio-
Thank you for your help, but I’m still having trouble. I downloaded the files, added back buttons to the maps so I could nav back and forth, and ran from from the Home screen. Both maps opened up on Dallas, not Colorado. So I went the js file, grabbed the gps coord for downtown Breckenridge, Colorado and dropped them into the location for each map screen, and reran the home screen. Both maps opened up centered on downtown Breckenridge, Colorado, but the markers don’t show up. What am I doing wrong?

support-octavioMemberMike,
I suspect that your markers aren’t shown because are out of visible area of map, can you confirm?
I’ve modified example and now it shows two maps in different locations with a marker each one. Please use it as an example for your app. Let me know how it goes. If you still have problems, please share a small sample that demonstrate the issue.Attachments:

This still isn’t working.
I downloaded the backup file, copied into a new folder, and opened up the “Home” screen and ran in the test center.
1. When I navigated to both maps, the maps are centered on Dallas, Tx, not Colorado or NYC (the locations of the maps/markers in the custom js file).
2. I opened the showmarkers and showmarkers2 screens, and put the gps coordinates into the “Location” box in each. I set the scale to 12 (zoomed out a bit from the 15 default).
3. I reran the Home screen. The maps are correct; Colorado and NYC; but no markers.
4. I have not upgraded Mobione to the release from a week or so ago.
What am I doing wrong?

Unknown AuthorParticipantHave you included the custom marker image files as part of your project (under Additional Project Files on your homescreen)?

Thank you for your help jumping into this.
No, I haven’t added the additional project files. I see where I add the files to the home screen – but which file(s) do I add?
Thank you very much for your help 🙂
Mike
Unknown AuthorParticipantYour custom marker files.
Mikelv001Member1TC-
I’m sorry, I’m not following 🙁
In the sample, there are three screens: home + 2 map screens. The screen home navigates to the 2 map screens, and the custom js file contains the marker info: gps + labels.
Which other files are there that relate to markers which should be added to the home screen?
The app I have is exactly the same: a “home” screen, with a navigation option to a map with markers.
Thank you for your help 🙂

Unknown AuthorParticipantMy mistake. I thought you were trying to add a custom marker.
support-octavioMemberMike,
Did you do any modification to the last example I shared? It’s working for me, that’s why is not easy to figure out what the problem on your side is. Are you using 2.3.2.1 or 2.5dev-1? Can you upload your modified files?
Mikelv001MemberHi Octavio-
I’m using Mobione 2.3.2 dev15 – this is the version you posted for me on 4/10/13 at 5:26pm, that solved the ‘locked scrolling’ problem. This current app is similar with multiple / different scrolling lists, and i’m still using AJAX.
I tried again with the marker sample screens. I downloaded the backup file to a new directory, restored the files to the same directory, opened the Home screen, ran in the test center, and both maps 1 & 2 are centered on Dallas TX. Let’s start here – is this an issie using AJAX or the version I’m running? If I upgrade Mobione will i get the scrolling lock problem back, as I thought the 2.3.2 d15 was somehow tweaked / optimized for what i’m doing?
Thank you 🙂

Mikelv001MemberHi Octavio-
I updated my laptop to the latest version of Mobione, copied your test files to my laptop, did not touc/edit them, opened up the home screen and ran in the test center from the home screen. When I nav to the maps, both open up centered on Dallas.
What am I doing wrong?
