Seriously though, we’re reserving _2.7.0 for the final production version. However, we still want the update manager to function as we go through the RC releases so we picked something that was between 2.6.4 and 2.7.0 as a starting point. 2.6.100 is weird enough that it reminds us all (here anyway) that’s it’s an RC build. The Eclipse team gets around this on milestones by marking every one of the 3.0.0. But as a result, you can’t update with the update manager either. We like the update manager so had to adopt this approach.
