    Riyad,

I verified the myFaces mailing list and could not find any issue related to caching and/or redeployment. I can not comprehend this. What does other tools in market do… they should basically have all the same problem – if they don’t redeploy the whole app via ant.

You mentioned that in previous versions you had the same problem with myFaces which required redeployment to see the changes displayed in the browser correctly. To be honest that’s why I have not gone into testing it further.

If I am correct the myEclipse 4 M1 version includes an option to quickly test the current myfaces M9 version.

Could you do me a favour and verify whether the sync-on-demand works with the current myfaces version?

    Thanks in advance,

    Frank

Did you ask what others were using? If the people that replied were all using custom Ant scripts that redeploy the entire webapp each time and restart the web context, then I’m not surprised you didn’t get any others complaining about similar issues.

You mentioned that in previous versions you had the same problem with myFaces which required redeployment to see the changes displayed in the browser correctly.

I was making heavy use of DataPanels and was using Sun RI 1.1_01 IIRC and MyFaces 1.0.7, I posted a message to the forums about the issue (Refresh not showing changes) and had many people reply “The current implementation of DataPanel’s caching is totally broken blah blah”, so I just gave up. The issue was so infuriating to me I switched the project back to Struts and Tiles.

If I am correct the myEclipse 4 M1 version includes an option to quickly test the current myfaces M9 version.

When you add JSF Capabilities, you can specify either the Sun RI or MyFaces, so yes.

Unfortunately no, I don’t have easy access to a JSF project that makes heavy use of DataPanels that I can quickly try deploying, changing and deploying again to see if the problem is still there and it would not be a trivial thing for me to sit down and write a JSF webapp that does do such a thing. I think you’ll need to get your feet wet here if you need to know about this issue still being in JSF.
