ingesolMemberI upgraded from M3 to GA this morning, and I’ve run into some problems. My installation procedure was the following:
1. Close all perspectives but Resource and close Eclipse 3.1.
2. Uninstall MyEclipse 4.0M3
3. Start Eclipse 3.1 and close it again.
4. Install MyEclipse 4.0GA
5. Start Eclipse 3.1Now, all the perspectives associated with MyEclipse, like Database Explorer, MyEclipse are gone. Under the “New…” menu, I only get Tapestry choices (component, page), none of the other MyEclipse features (struts, spring…).
My system
Win XP SP2, Eclipse 3.1, Java 1.4.2_07
Brian FernandesModeratoringesol,
1) Do you have the final version of Eclipse 3.1? If not, please download and use that.
2) I would recommend restarting eclipse with a -clean switch. (eclipse.exe -clean)
3) Check your capabilies preferences (General > Capabilites) and make sure all the MyEclipse capabilies are enabled
4) If the above don’t work for you, I’d advise a fresh Eclipse and MyEclipse install to new locations and use a new workspace. Once you get it working we can work backwards from there and determine what your problem is, or you could just import projects into your new workspace or use our old workspace in the new installation (if the workspace isn’t a problem)Hope this helps,
Brian.
IacturusMemberHi, i have the problem, that MyEclipse is not available at all in Eclipse.
In “Software Updates”->”Manage Configuration” I have an the tiny white cross on red background at the “MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 4.0.0”.
When I click on the plus, I have the cross on “MyEclipse Base Platform Support 4.0.0”.Any ideas?
PS: Sorry for my bad English!
Brian FernandesModeratorIacturus,
I’m sorry, you haven’t given me any idea of what you’ve done to reach this point. Did you upgrade, reinstall, uninstall…?
Please give me a series of steps you performed that brought you this point, we’ll be able to assist you much faster. Please state your Eclipse, MyEclipse & JDK versions and your OS.
Also, for a quick solution, I’d recommend step 4 from my previous post.
Best,
Brian.
IacturusMemberSorry,
I uninstalled MyEclipse 4.0 M3 and after that I installed MyEclipse 4.0 GA, start it with “-clean”.
Eclipse version: 3.1.0
Eclipse use JDK: j2sdk1.4.2_08
OS: Win XP SP2Now i tried the same again with a “-clean” start of Eclipse after uninstall MyEclipse 4.0 GA. After that I installed MyEclipse 4.0 GA again, start it with “-clean”.
Still have no “MyEclipse” Perspective, but the “MyEclipse” MenuEntry with “Add Tapestry Capa….” and so on. In “Window”->”Preferences…” I got new entries like “Tapestry (Spindle)”, “Subscription”….
MyEclipse Editors, like MyEclipse XML Editor, are not available.
The cross I also still have.
Brian FernandesModeratorIacturus,
What installer did you use to install GA?
Can you try a fresh eclipse 3.1 install and install GA against that?
Best,
Brian.
IacturusMemberI used MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 4.0 GA for Windows 98/2000/XP (8/29/2005) (http://www.myeclipseide.com/Downloads+index-req-getit-lid-44.html)
I will try a new eclipse installation later.
Btw, when will come a version, which works with eclipse 3.2M1?
IacturusMemberNew Eclipse installation helped.
