Does the current Windows Installer install a really native 64 bit version?

    Mobilexag,

ME windows installer works with Windows 64 bit. We do not have a dedicated 64 bit build yet (something that would run with the 64 bit build of Eclipse), however – the 32 bit version of MyEclipse will work fine on Windows 64. A dedicated 64 bit build is in the works, but not available at this time.

But then I need to run the IDE with a 32 bit JVM, not a 64 bit JVM?

    Mobilexag,

Yes, you will need to run with a 32 bit JVM. The windows installer will include this (32 bit JVM by default). Please ensure that you use the same for launching MyEclipse(refer myeclipse.ini file after installing MyEclipse, this is located in the MyEclipse installation dir). No other action is necessary.

    Best.

Clarification : MyEclipse installer file is bundled with 32 bit JVM. You need not do anything. Just run the installer file to install MyEclipse, it will make sure MyEclipse runs with the right JVM.

You guys said late last year a 64 bit version would come in the early 8.x cycle for Windows.

Can you give us any idea of when a 64 bit Windows version will be available?

From the thread, it shows you’ll have a XULRunner-less 64-bit build in early September when 9.0M1 is released? I don’t know what XULRunner is, but given that it won’t be in 9.0M1, I’m assuming you still don’t know when you’ll have a fully 64bit support version?
