kfreemanMemberMy development team is still using 8.0, we won’t be upgrading for a couple weeks yet. I need to add a few components that I didn’t originally install from the update site, but the update site now points to 8.5 components only. How can I get to the 8.0 components? I see 7.5 and 6.6 available on the downloads pages, but not 8.0?
support-joyMemberkfreeman,
MyEclipse 6.6 is the stable release on the 6.x series, similarly ME 7.5 on the 7.x series. Currently ME 8.5 is the stable release on 8.x series, hence you can see 8.5 components. What are the components you are trying to add to your ME 8.0 profile? You can use Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software.
kfreemanMemberWell my development team is restricted to using the same version of all dev components, which (for now) means v 8.0 (& eclipse 3.5.1). Strange that you guys would hide or withhold previous versions of your product, if I had known that was your policy I would have downloaded and saved a copy of the archived update site. Every other piece of development software that we use (including eclipse, for example) maintains access to previous versions, why don’t you guys?
Is there any way for me to get the 8.0 archived update site now?
support-joyMemberkfreeman,
I will speak to the dev team members and find out if we can get an 8.0 archived update site for you. I shall get back to you on this.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

I’m afraid this is how we’ve always done it for MyEclipse, with the latest release in a given stream replacing the previous versions. This has unfortunately become a larger issue recently with the availability of MyEclipse Lite where you can add and remove components. We are going to correct this for releases going forward – all versions in a given stream will remain available throughout.
In the meanwhile, I will PM you the links you need for 8.0. Sorry for the inconvenience caused and thanks for understanding.

kfreemanMemberIt appears the situation has gotten worse instead of better for developers. Now the only “stream” available is the 9.0, so I have no access to ANY v8 myeclipse versions! I thought you guys were going to provide access to all versions in all streams?
Brian FernandesModeratorkfreeman,
None of the versions have been “killed”, but due to a ridiculously high level of theft we have had to remove links to offline installers of older versions of MyEclipse.
As a paying MyEclipse customer you do have access to all our versions. Simply write in to sales@genuitec.com with your subscription Id and code and let us know what version of MyEclipse you need with the OS(es) you want the installers for and we will send you the links.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Moises LejterMemberBut the current process seems to be broken! I’ve been trying to get v 8.6 of MyEclipse for the Mac since the end of last week (about 4 days, and maybe 2 business days?), with no luck whatsoever. I send in a request to sales, they reply with a link that I can use to download this version, I try to download it and get a “permission denied” error, repeat (so far, twice).
If the issue is theft, could you not just require that people log in with their myeclipse id, then only download one copy of a version in a 24/48/72/til-reset period?
It’s been quite the frustrating experience, so far …Moises
Brian FernandesModeratorMoises,
I replied to your request myself, something was indeed unexpectedly broken and has now been fixed. Sorry once again for the inconvenience caused.
