crispyozMemberHi Joy,
I am not behind a firewall or proxy, I have a straight ADSL2+ connection to the internet and I didn’t have any issue with myeclipse 7.1, only since I installed 7.5 did this start occurring.
As I keep replying to you that I have uninstall and deleted everything then done a new install multiple times, it doesn’t fix the issue. I’m using a default install onto my Vista 64 system.
I’ve had to go back to using standard eclipse so that I can continue my work, I’d rather use myeclipse but right now I can’t.
Regards
Chris
support-joyMemberChris,
I have escalated this issue and one of our dev/tech team member will get back to you on this.
Riyad KallaMemberChris,
I’m sorry you are having so many problems getting this working — to be honest, we have no idea why this is occuring. We’ve looked up the profile definition on our end, and it’s straight MyEclipse, with absolutely nothing additional in the profile added.
Unfortunate the errors you are getting imply that there is a huge amount of custom software installed AND that the update sites hosting the software are unreachable at the time of resolution — either due to network connectivity issues or the update sites themselves are down.
For example:
Could not locate installable unit: com.csc.dip.projectset.feature.feature.group 0.0.0
Checked update site http://colorer.sf.net/eclipsecolorer and found 4 installable units.
Checked update site http://directory.apache.org/studio/update/1.x and found 37 installable units.

Checked update site http://www.perforce.com/downloads/http/p4-wsad/install and found 13 installable units.
Checked update site http://www.ribeaud.ch/updates and found 6 installable uniEvery single one of these update sites from your first error are custom — we don’t have those registered in the profile for MyEclipse anywhere — not only that, but that feature group mentioned in the error is another custom plugin that we don’t even have in the Pulse catalog let alone any of the profiles.
What I’d like you to do is the following:
1. Right-click on the shortcut that you run to launch MyEclipse and go to “Properties”
2. Check the “Target”, and paste it here. Make sure it’s pointing at the right exe and no longer MyEclipse 7.1
3. Navigate to the containing dir for that target, and check the contents of the /dropins folder and make sure it’s empty. This might explain where all these custom plugins are coming from. Please report back here with your findings… if the /dropins IS empty and the link does point at your 7.5 install, then I’m totally bamboozled here.
The good news is that we provide Pulse-less MyEclipse installs from our download page. You can either use our update site (online or offline) or just grab the “Manual Install” ZIP which is already Eclipse Classic + MyEclipse pre-installed, unzip it and run it.
crispyozMemberAaah now I can see what the issue is. My shortcut is pointing to a backup copy of the Genuitec directory which I renamed to Genuitec.old after I installed 7.5 and it wouldn’t let me add/remove software. It looks like when I renamed the directory that Vista repointed the shortcut to the renamed directory. So even though I had been reinstalling etc the shortcut was pointing at the old installation.
I’ve repointed the shortcut to the correct directory and added a new spftware module and it worked … finally!
Thanks so much for your help … damn I’m stupid 🙂
Chris
