Hi, it’s been some time since I’ve last had to use MyEclipse Blue but now I’ve got some maintenance to do.

The problem is that the “auto-complete” function isn’t working. That is, when you type class_variable. and a pop-up comes up with the methods etc..

Also, when in debug mode, I don’t get a pop up with variable contents when I do a mouse over.

I must have messed up my environment and have no idea how to fix.

Please send instructions on how to restore these features. It’s slowing me down quite a bit.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Bill,

Sorry that you are seeing issues with MyEclipse.

Can you please answer some more questions for us ?

    1. Can you please share the Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ?

    2. Go to Window > Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assist > Advanced and check if the ‘Java Proposals’ option is turned on ? This option has to be turned on for the auto-complete to work.

    3. Take a look at this thread which discusses the hover issue in Debug mode :
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5033717/not-working-hover-on-variable-to-see-value-in-debug-prespective-in-eclipse

    4. Can you please switch to a new workspace , create a simple project and check if the issues exist ?

Let us know how it works for you.
