best practice for Web Project structure

    It may be a solution but it is quite cumbersome to do when applying only minor fixes & patches. I’ll have to verify, but I’m quite sure that our web server does not support running directly the application from a *.war file, we would have to manually redeploy everytime the war file using the web server admin console.

    Of course this would work but is this common practice? It seems to be quite cumbersome in my opinion and would be only justifiable for major updates.

    My 2 cents.

    “Common practice” is completely different for each development group.

    Hopefully some additions we will be making in future releases (relaxing the server/deployment model) should help, but there is no garuntee. Let’s assume for now that this is the only workaround.
