Sorry my response got lost in the bussle… I was able to reproduce the bug doing just what you did (with extracting the TLDs and so forth) and able to see the issue of no autocomplete with TLDs that are not in the project. I filed the bug as a high priority item and hope to get it fixed in our 3.8.2 or 3.8.3 release comming up here soon.
