I’ve done a bit more digging after reporting the issue of not being able to install Mylyn on MyEclipse 7.5 https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/myeclipse-7-5-and-mylyn/ and at the moment I do believe that there is a critical bug in MyEclipse 7.5 for Mac OS that doesn’t allow you to install any new plugins.
While I might be wrong, I’ve been trying to get 3 different plugins installed in the latest 24 hours and all resulted in an error similar to the one posted at the above mentioned link. Meanwhile, I haven’t heard anything from MyEclipse support so I’m asking the other forum members to help me out here.

Alex, I replied to the original thread explaining that we are seeing no such failures on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X or Linux and that the behaviors you are seeing are indiciative of a connectivity issue… 9 times out of 10 a proxy configuration issue, and then how to go into Window > Prefs > Pulse > Network Connections and make sure the proxy settings are correct to hopefully fix that.
