Hi.

I have several applications that have almost the same icon in the taskbar, so I’d like to modify the MyEclipse icon (which I only have one of) to something else. Playing around with various eclipse.ico, eclipse.gif and eclipse.png files did not change anything.

Could you please tell me which file to replace to do this. I do not care about the icon shown in the window or elsewhere, just the one in the taskbar where I click to deiconify.

Can you right click on the icon and go to Properties > Change Icon > Browse to a new *.ico file and hit OK. Does that work?

Yes I can do that and it changes the icon of the shortcut, but not the one displayed in the taskbar.

I have done this earlier by modifying a file inside the Eclipse file tree, but cannot locate this file now.

I believe you have to actually change the .ico file (used for branding) under the <install dir>\myeclipse\eclipse directory

I have tried this too, but apparently the icon is explicitly set later in the process.

A long time ago I found the resource deep in a plugin but cannot find it now. Perhaps it is a zipped plugin now?

That’s weird… I suppose it’s possible, if it was, it would be in the .product plugin.
