pkitMemberCan someone take me through sharing my profile with myself, say, between a laptop and a pc?
I’ve used the Configuration Center to add update sites and used the catalogues to get and install fave plugins etc. but want to be able to share these updates between machines – particularly around the Manage Settings section….
I have added software that is disabled so I can’t share it – how do I share it (talking about subversive plugin)
Thanks
support-joyMemberpkit,
Here are 2 ways to share your profile in between different systems.
Open MyEclipse for Spring IDE. From menu options click on Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center > Collaboration tab. Under Collaborative Users, click on “+”. This will open a “Pulse Explorer” window. Specify the email id and click on [Add to Invite] and follow the wizard. This will send out an invite to the email address specified. Open email and download and install the shared link.
In case you are a registered pulse user. You can use pulse to install your ME profiles to other systems. Typically, pulse is located at Start > Programs > Pulse > Pulse Explorer. You can also download the same from http://www.poweredbypulse.com.
All you need to do is –
1. open pulse
2. login to pulse
3. select the relevant eclipse realm from top left hand corner drop-down
4. select the profile from “My Profiles”
5. From right hand pane click on [Launch].
This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps.
pkitMemberTa for that.
Isn’t there a simpler way to sync your personal profile without having to resort to email i.e. from within the configuration centre? It does look like it should but I’ve not found any documentation…
I was kind of hoping to be able to enter the configuration centre and select a profile from a dropdown box and get all the updates, plugins, preferences etc that I’ve installed on machine A and apply them to machine B.
I only want to share this profile btween me and me
support-joyMemberpkit,
If you do not wish to use the email method, the alternative is to use pulse.
