Ben RiveraMemberI am trying to install Crystal Reports for Eclipse version 2.0.13.r1733, from http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/crystalreportsforeclipse/2_0/update_site but it fails with:
Software being installed: MyEclipse 10 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000004 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-3553668-rmb-4692241 2.0.0.0000000004)
Missing requirement: MyEclipse 10 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000004 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-3553668-rmb-4692241 2.0.0.0000000004) requires ‘com.businessobjects.crystalreports.integration.eclipse.feature.nls2.feature.group 0.0.0’ but it could not be foundI have a newer version (2.0.14) of the zip file and would like to manually install it but MyEclipse Configuration Center needs a context.xml in the zip file: Unable to read repository at jar:file:c:/…../cr4e_2.0.14.zip/context.xml.
Do I need to create a context file? If so, how?
Or can I manually copy all the files into to proper directorys to install it?Thanks, Ben
Ben RiveraMemberI am also unable to cancel this install. The remove option is greyed out under Software – My Software, even if I uncheck the apply changes check box.
support-pradeepMemberBen,
We don’t provide intrinsic support for third party plugins, but we will try to assist you in this case.
I could not replicate the issue at my end on MyEclipse 10.7.1.
Here are the steps that I followed :
1) From MyEclipse configuration center > Software, I have added Crystal reports for Eclipse using the update site given by you.
2) Clicked on Apply changes and followed the wizard. The plugin installed successfully.Alternatively, I have downloaded crystal reports 2.0.14 zip file (Manual installation package) from the following link. Extracted the zip file and copied the plugins and features folder into <MyEclipse installation directory>/dropins folder. Restart MyEclipse and at the startup of MyEclipse, a popup will be shown as “Software added successfully”.
http://www.businessobjects.com/campaigns/forms/downloads/crystal/eclipse/datasave.aspPlease take a look at this link on how to add plugins in MyEclipse 10.7.1 ::
http://www.genuitec.com/blog/?p=1628Regarding the “Remove option”, you can remove the plugins by selecting the plugin and clicking on Remove. In your case, you need to remove “crystal reports for eclipse”,”crystal reports for eclipse language pack1″ (if added) and “crystal reports for eclipse language pack2” (if added). Take a look at the attached screenshots for more reference. The first screenshot tells you that you need to select the plugin and click on remove button. The second screenshot shows you the pending changes as blank after removing all the plugins.
If you are still facing any issues, can you please answer us some more queries to help us investigate further :
1) Can you please share your installation details from MyEclipse > Installation summary > Installation details ?
2) Also, please share the exact steps in detail on how you are installing the plugin ? Please mention what all plugins you are selecting ?
3) Can you please list out if you have installed any 3rd party plugins ?
4) If you are facing any issues regarding “Removing plugin”, can you please attach the screenshots to help us visualize the issue.Let us know how it works you.
Ben RiveraMemberDropping the downloaded file in the dropin folder worked.
I still can’t remove the orignal failed intall from the MySoftware, I have even unchecked the Apply Changes:Attachments:

support-tonyKeymasterBen,
I’m glad you got the plug-in to install.
In the MyEclipse Configuration Center, it seems that you’re trying to remove the update site, rather than the plug-in. Update sites that you’ve added are shown at the bottom of the My Software panel. Updates sites can’t be removed if there are plug-ins from that site that have been added to your profile (even if they haven’t been installed yet). To remove the plug in, scroll up the My Software panel until you see the Crystal Reports plug-ins (they will probably be near the top of the list, as shown in Pradeep’s previous post). Right-click on each plug-in and select Remove. Once all plug-ins from the update site have been removed, you can remove the update site.
Please let us know if this helps.
Ben RiveraMemberOdd that the software install only showed up after I placed the downloaded files into the drop-in folder, but still showed up as pending changes. I had to remove the software, then I was able to remove the sites.
Now the Crystal Plugin is installed but doesn’t show up as installed. Do files in the drop-in folder not display anywhere?
support-tonyKeymasterBen,
I’m glad you sorted out the config center updates.
Plugins you install through the dropins folder should show up in the standard eclipse installation details window, which is available by going to Help->About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench->Installation Details.
