this is probably a ‘stock’ eclipse question, but is there a way to change the default tab when doing a search (ie: ctrl-h ) ? It’s not a huge deal, but my default is ‘plugin search’ which I use much less frequently than ‘file search’.

No idea off the top of my head… I use file search most as well.

If setting a default tab is not possible, a huge ease would be to switch between tabs with “CTRL+TAB” key shortcut. Would this be doable?
