    Hi,
I have an application which uses MS Word and Excel docments as templates for reports. These are held in a directory under WebRoot. When I add a deployment to Tomcat, the directory is deployed, but not the .doc and .xls template files.

I can copy the files across manually and everything works, but I’m hoping there is a setting somewhere to allow this to happen automatically. Could someone tell me if there is such a setting, and if so explain how to use it. (Or point me in the right direction for some documentation).

    Many thanks.

Very strange, when you “deploy” the tool does a straight copy of all the resources, can you tell me why you think they aren’t being copies? Have you tried browsing to the deployment directory and actually double checking that the files are/aren’t there? Or can you not load them from the web app and that is what made you think they weren’t getting deployed?

You can also check your <workspace dir>\.metadata\.log file, near the bottom, right after you deploy to see if there is an exception related to copying out those files. Maybe a permission error?

The good news is that when I restarted my PC the following day, everything started working! However, I did double check the directory the files should have been deployed to at the time, and they were not there.

But never, all’s well that ends well 😀

    Thanks for your reply though.
