Hi, I am sure you have a solution for this, or I have just been using the software wrong. But I have text fields that sit on the lower portion of the screen, the issue is that when I select one of these fields to type into, the popup keyboard on the device hides the textfields. I know on other apps that the field /screen gets pushed up to make room for the keyboard.

Could you assist in resolving this as this has become a showstopper for my app.

    Thanks

    Hear, hear!

I, too, was plagued with this problem, but was able to hash a work-around by moving all my input fields into the upper half of the screen. A true fix would be appreciated.

I just had a crazy thought and ran a quick test…

If you bind the textfields to the bottom of the design rather than the top, this seems to solve the problem. At least on my test case – six text entry boxes spaced down a iPhone 4 screen. See http://goo.gl/bZxUb

However, on my iPad 2 you get the complementary problem of the creeping white ‘under screen’. Yugh!!!

And… On a different point – the iPhone keyboard has the done button, whilst the iPad keyboard does not and I did not configure the screen as a form!

Hi Stu, thanks for your input, I tried binding the placeholder that holds the fields that didn’t work, I didn’t think of trying to bind the actual text fields. Still not perfect if it doesn’t work on ipads though, but certainly worth a go for android devices, I will try it tomorrow. :-/

Surely there should be cross platform solution for this. Maybe Octavia with his Mobione skills can assist us with this 🙂

I have resolved the issue it was the placeholder causing the problem, by removing this the text fields then moved up ready for typing. I will have to change my background image now as I used the place holder so the fields stood out clearly. Oh well 🙂
