ebernieMemberI was just about to download myEclipse for evaluation (and will likely purchase a license) but then I saw this thread… I’m running Eclipse 3.2M5.
The day you announce BETA 5.0 would be the day I download the evaluation and give myEclipse a run. Please, don’t make me wait 🙂
ChristopherMemberSuper news, I’m in the same boat as tdurkin. Eclipse 3.2 is the only (well the only one I can get to work) version of Eclipse that runs on Mac OS X (Intel), so I am currently sans MyEclipse. Thank god for Boot Camp, at least it gives us an option to have both Eclipse and MyEclipse running.
STiPPMemberHere, on my Powerbook with OS 10.4 and latest Java5, MyEclipse (4.1.1) is running fine with Eclipse 3.2M5.
Sometimes crashes Eclipse (appr. once a day).
I’ve also tried to get MyEclipse working with M6 and RC1 but without luck.
Riyad KallaMemberMyEclipse 5 work is *smokin* busy, I’m seeing a ton of activity from all spectrums of the team in my inbox, so progress is going well. All the major porting issues are done and even a lot of the basic “Woops, this broke when we went from 3.1 to 3.2” stuff is done, but there is still more work to do. We are targetting to have an M1 of MyEclipse 5.0 out here in the next couple of weeks. It won’t be feature complete (more will come in M2) but it should allow you guys to start beating it to death. We are just trying to get out all the obvious bugs that you would find within 10mins and screw you up, we want this to be a really stable milestone.

You can run Eclipse 3.1 on MacIntel, you just need to get ahold of the Universal version of the SWT jar. It’s linked within this Eclipse bug, along with details on how to install:

Good to hear this. Still counting the days…

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=98889Isn’t the Intel compatible version of the SWT jar also included in the Eclipse 3.2RC1 release? I will get my Intel iMac next week, so I can’t test it yet.

Yes, the 3.2 Eclipse builds have been Universal since 3.2M5, I believe, but MyEclipse doesn’t work with 3.2 yet. If you want to use Eclipse 3.1 with MyEclipse 4.1 in the meantime, you can get the 3.1 version for the Mac, and replace the SWT package with the Universal version.
Harald WalkerMemberI got my Intel iMac today and it works as I though. Download the 3.2RC1 release and move these 2 files to your 3.1.2 Eclipse plugin folder:
org.eclipse.swt_3.2.0.v3230b.jar
org.eclipse.swt.carbon.macosx.ppc_3.2.0.v3230.jarAm now using MyEclipse 4.1.1GA on my Intel Mac with Eclipse 3.1.2.
I am looking forward to Eclipse 3.2 and MyEclipse 5 but I will have to wait for a stabile release anyhow.
Paul StantonMemberit is now nearing the end of april…
remember scott, i really really like you .. don’t change that 😆
jaeParticipantany updates on this now that we’re into may?
Paul StantonMemberi fear warning the dev team off making hasty time estimates in the future .. but a status report would be nice guys .. we are holding off buying a profiling solution in favour of eclipse 3.2 and neeeeeeeed to know where you’re up to with the pre releases.
????
Derek BerubeMemberI just got my MacBook Pro and am getting things configured. Any update on the delivery of the MyEclipse 5.0 milestone build?
Scott AndersonParticipantSorry guys, the dev team is “heads down” working on trial builds of milestone 1 right now. We’ll be working through the weekend to shorten the delivery window. It appears we’re looking at “days”, but not longer. We’re still hopeful to have it out on Monday, but if more QA is needed, it may slip a couple of days for us to address issues. Everyone is simply doing their best to make sure that even milestone 1 is useful and reliable for you, to the degree any milestone build built on Eclipse milestone / RC builds can be. Trust us, *no one* wants to get this out to you more than the dev team does. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Devon HillardParticipantAny news on this front?
