You are right that defaulting to a dark theme in Windows Classic theme does not make sense as windows classic does not allow styling of widgets. For a future release, we are going to allow users to select a light or dark theme on startup as well as avoid offering users a theme that won’t look good.

Thanks for your response. Sorry if I seemed impatient. In some years of installing and using software I have never seen a default black ground, let alone black font on it. Thanks for your attention to this
