Robin Alex PanickerParticipantWhen can we see ejb3 in myeclipse. we are forced to use netbeans now. plz plz add the support ASAP. I cannot miss myeclipse any longer
Riyad KallaMemberWe have already begun internal investigation into EJB3 tooling for inclusion in the 6.0 release. Hang in there just a bit longer.
Tony HerstellParticipantIf you like the look of EJB3 take a look at JBoss Seam.
I am creating an EJB3 project, in MyEclipse right now using JBoss Seam (EJB3, Facelets, JSF and now IceFaces (starting off with a normal EJB project!)).
Very impressd with Seam!
Hope this helps.
sachinsreeMemberIt should have this Feature. As i am using this in My Project, after some days i need to work on EJB3.0,then where to go?. in this mesn time i cant switch to other IDE. As IDEA 6.x is already have EJB 3.0 plug-in and working successfully. So i reuquest to intruduce plug-in urgently.
Riyad KallaMemberThis feature set is coming soon, management is working with our development team to see how this functionality will be integrated into the product. We appreciate your patience while we evaluate these options.
Bill LavioletteMemberSo can we expect EJB 3.0 support in MyEclipse 5.5 along with Spring 2.0?
Riyad KallaMemberFrom product manager:
Spring 2: Yes, already in (2.0.2), EJB3: being considered, but no hard and fast commitment yet.
Tony HerstellParticipantThis may be of interest.
Again thanks to those amazing JBoss people.http://www.myeclipseide.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=15597#71446
dwildcat92MemberI just wanted to add that the EJB3 support is critical. I too am a member of a project migrating a services from Hibernate to EJB3. Basic reverse engineering is all we’re asking for a version one release. The ability to connect to a database and convert a table to an entity. Maybe assist in configuring the persistence.xml. As with the others, I have installed NetBeans and JDeveloper to speed development.
Jean-Michel PargnyMemberEJB3 please !!!
Just got an idea for a SNAP 🙂
– upgrade ME to Seam / Facelets / JPA as standard for 5.5
– bundle JSP, Hibernate (classic), Struts, Spring and al as optional “legacy support” SNAPJean-Michel

Ok so here is a quote from product manager, I don’t think 5.5 is going to happen, but stranger things have occured before a release:
5.5 is a stretch goal for EJB3, but it will absolutely be in 6.0 in Summer.
Kenneth A. KousenMemberIt’s been another couple of weeks. Any update on that? Will EJB3 make it into 5.5?
nsowatskMemberHi
We have adopted Java 5 and EJB 3 for our project, and we are keen to use MyEclipse, but the lack of EJB3 support is problematic.
Many thanks
Nathan
Riyad KallaMemberNathan and others, EJB3 support will be comming in MyEclipse 5.5 and improving in every release after it. We appreciate your patience and also commitment to making sure we get this feature in, it’s hard to be a user waiting for a technology to get into your favorite tool and it’s easy to get pissed off when it’s not in the release you had hoped it would be. So we just wanted to say thanks for waiting and we hope as your feedback pours in after 5.5 and on we can get it up to the level of functionality that you need.
Kenneth A. KousenMemberThe obvious question, then, is when will 5.5 be available? The road map says end of Q1, which is already past. Do you expect a release Real Soon Now(TM)?
Ken
