    how can i configure my tomcat-settings(window->preferences-myeclipse) with a environmentvaribale like CATALINA_HOME ?

    You shouldn’t need to set anything using variables, please explain why you are doing this, we may find out it’s not necessary.

    I will generally use environment-variables in eclipse, also to include external jars from a tomcat-folder (e.g. shared/lib, common/lib). When I use a new tomcat version in a other folder, I have to change only my environment variable (CATALINA_HOME).

    You are welcome to try using it in the Tomcat preferences: %CATALINA_HOME%, for example, but if it does not work then it is not supported. Honestly this has never been requested before.
