    Guys,

If you want you can install MyEclipse 7.0M2 directly from the discovery sites. Here they are:

    MyEclipse 7.0M2:
    http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/discovery-7.0/

    MyEclipse Blue 7.0M2:
    http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/blue-discovery-7.0/

Just point the update manager at them and have at it! 🙂

FYI, if you try to use the link in a browser you’ll get a “Forbidden” error; that’s normal. The update manager knows which files it needs and it will work fine.

    ok Thanks Scott.
    I’ll try it out.
Apparently, it seems to be very slow download at this time.
Will let you know about any issue encountered.

    regards,

    Hironico.

    Hi again.

I finally managed to download the 7.0M2 right from the update site as Scott indicated.
So that I could get the myeclipse workbench properly.
I decided to try out the Icefaces integration, as well as the JSP editor.
I felt into this error when trying to open a simple JSP:
    “Unhandled event loop exception
No more handles [Could not detect registered XULRunner to use]”.

I’ve already noticed that XUL runner uses native internal libs. As I’m using x64 version of ganymede, the corresponding XUL runner may not have been ported to x64.

Unless some of you knows where to find the x64 XUL Runner ???

Well, I keep you posted of my progress.

    cheers,

    Hironico

I have tried the installation from the archive site and from the URL, and both give me an error when I try to install the MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench. I can install all of the individual parts, but I just can’t install this piece. When I try it says there are dependencies that cannot be resolved.

Using just the parts that I was able to install works fine so far. Is there anything in particular that I am missing with this part or is it just a meta project that encompasses all of the individual pieces?

Here is a sample of the messages I get :

I tried with both 3.4.1 and 3.4 and get the same thing. These messages are against a 3.4.1 installation. Other than that it seems to be working fine. I haven’t touched the JSF stuff yet, but the ability to use m2eclipse fully is great.

    Thanks,
    Edward

    Edward,
Are you using Eclipse 3.4 Classic or some other version? You will have to run MyEclipse with Eclipse 3.4 Classic.

I used the classic version. The names of the files i tried are :

      eclipse-SDK-3.4.1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz
      eclipse-SDK-3.4-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz

Those are the ones that show up under the classic option. I will give it another try to be sure. But on 3 separate machines I saw the same thing. They were all running OpneSuSe 11.0, but for this that shouldn’t make a difference.

    Edward,
Can you go to http://www.poweredbypulse.com and grab the pulse launcher. After launching the pulse explorer, add the MyEclipse profile to it. Does the problem persist?

Pulse install fails on x86-64 also. I didn’t think it would, but it did. I will try a 32bit install later and see if I get the same thing. But my primary machine at work and home is 64bit. I do have a laptop I can test on that is 32bit.

Ok, on a 32bit linux machine the pulse install works just fine. On another 64bit machine the pulse installer still failed.

What message did the installer throw after it failed? You used the pulse launcher for the 64 bit OS?

The errors that I am getting are those listed above. Unable to find a solution where things are required. The whole list is huge, but if you’d like me to email it to you I can.

Sorry, I missed that part. Yes, I used the 64bit version. When I tried the 32 bit version Pulse didn’t even start.

We *just* released a new version of Pulse this morning, is this still failing for you?

I tried the new version of pulse but It is still saying that there are the same dependency errors when I try to install MyEclipse 7.0.

To be clear, Pulse does run, and that part works fine, but when I select MyEclipse 7.0 as the profile to install, it tries to resolve the dependencies and then says it can’t install because of unsatisfied requirements (see the message above).

    Thanks,
    Edward
