After I edited the .myhibernatedata correcting the config.configFilePath and removing the two extra config.mappings entries, everything generated correctly.

nope. i forgot about the second reference. If i were yiou Iwould trash the original config file and create a new one via New -> Other -> J2EE -> Hibernate 2.1 -> Hib Config File, and just re-add your mappings through this wizard. This will all become much more intuitive and simpler in the next major release.

Glad to hear that the Hibernate support will continue to improve. It seems pretty green right now.

Any eta on the next release?

Also, I am basically looking for an end to end Hibernate tool for code and mapping generation that I can configure to be run via Ant or Maven independently of the IDE. Are there any plans to move in this direction or have you guys considered integrating support for existing Hibernate tools that can be run independently of the IDE (Middlegen, XDoclet, hibm2ddl, etc.)?

    Thanks,

Believe me, it was not even this good in the original plugin.

No plans in this direction. It would be a hard sell to construct functionality for this beyond eclipse itself at this point.
