ah ha! think I’ve found the problem –

ME is looking for C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\plugins\org.apache.derby.core_10.3.1.4\derby.jar

    BUT

ME by default (in WIn 7) installs itself in to C:\Users\{ME}\AppData\Local\Genuitec – so the full path of derby.jar is –

    C:\Users\{ME}\AppData\Local\Genuitec\Common\plugins\org.apache.derby.core_10.5.1.1_v20100129\derby.jar

So the question is, how do I point ME at the correct class path?

    Derb settings attached

    harryajh,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

    1. Can you please check if you can double click on the MyEclipse Derby server in the Server’s view and start it without issues ? Also switch to MyEclipse Database Explorer view and check if you can see the contents of the MyEclipse Derby database.

    2. Can you please try reinstalling the profile as a quick fix? Here are the steps :

    a. Download and install Pulse from http://www.poweredbypulse.com (go to the downloads page and select “Your Eclipse IDE Management”)

    b. Open the Pulse explorer, right click on the MyEclipse profile under MyProfiles section, select ‘Reinstall then Run’. Follow the wizard.

    3. If the reinstall does not solve the issue, can you please go to Window > Preferences > General > Startup and Shutdown. Uncheck the MyEclipse Derby and see if the issue still exists ?

Let us know how it works for you.

Really reluctant to start playing around with Config Center – never really got on with it and just find it so diffcult to use and poorly laid out. Think I’ll just have to live with it – thanks anyway!

    harryajh,

It looks like the port 1527 is in use by some other program or process. I would recommend you do the following –
    1. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Servers > Integrated Sandbox > MyEclipse Derby.
    2. Click on [Restore MyEclipse Derby Driver].
    3. Next click on [Restore Sample Database].
    4. Change the port from 1527 to any other available port.
    5. Click on [Apply] and [OK]

Let me know how this works for you?

    done that and still getting

    “Description Resource Path Location Type
Problem with driver “Derby Embedded JDBC Driver 10.0 Default.” (Error: Unable to locate JAR/zip in file system as specified by the driver definition: C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\plugins\org.apache.derby.core_10.3.1.4\derby.jar.) Derby Embedded JDBC Driver 10.0 Default Driver Problems

It’s the location of the JAR that’s looks to be the problem – wouldn’t it be a lot easier to allow the server to be deleted? – can’t believe there isn’t an option already!

    harryajh,

Could you try something for me? Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench > [Installation Details]. Open Plug-ins tab and look for “Apache Derby Core Plug-in for Eclipse” and attach a screenshot.
    Refer

Next open C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\plugins\org.apache.derby.core__10.3.1.4 or relevant based on the screenshot above and look for derby.jar. Refer

If you see that the jar file is not present in the relevant location, I would recommend you perform a re-install. This will fix derby plugin. Please refer attached images.

Let me know how this works for you.
