cgkuserMemberI followed the instructions specified in:
Announcement: MyEclipse 5.1.0 GA for Eclipse 3.2.1 is Now Available
to update. The process went smoothly. However, the splash screen still says “5.0” and when I look in Help>About MyEclipse…, I still see:
Version: 5.0.1 GA
Build id: 20060810-5.0.1-GADo I need to do something else?
Thanks.

Riyad KallaMemberYou updated via the update manager or via the installer? If everything is working fine it’s likely just a hickup somewhere, but your build info looked a little strange because it says “Build 5.0” then “5.0.1” but not 5.1.0 anywhere…
cgkuserMemberI initially downloaded the installer and tried to run it from MS-Windows. This didn’t work and didn’t provide any error information. My guess is that it couldn’t overwrite something (like the current version of eclipse) and just quit.
I subsequently used the update manager and that worked properly. I’m using the new version, trying to develop an application with Spring and Hibernate. It seems to be okay, but I’m a novice and I probably wouldn’t know if something is wrong.
Should I reinstall?
Riyad KallaMemberI would just keep using it, and for our 5.5 release if you cannot update, you can just use the all-in-one installer with the new release to create a clean new install.
