What about build 1.4.1_03-b02? I completely uninstalled 1.4.2_03 (I didn’t have any real need for the latest version) and installed 1.4.1_03-b02. When I re-ran the installation I got the same error.
Just to be safe I rebooted the machine in case anything was left over from the prior java version.
Is there an issue with 1.4.2_03? Do I need to go down further?

Did you manually set the environment variables I specified in my prior post? Did any of the tips in the previous thread I mentioned help at all?
Can you tell us *exactly* what you’re doing, step-by-step?

IIRC we ran this down in another thread and it was actually a problem with the installer not recognizing something. The fastest way to work around this is to download the Manual Install and follow the instructions within it. Its pretty much a 2-step process but the instructions are very detailed with lots of screenshots walking you through the process.
