thorwarzMemberSame procedure as every …. release.
Version 7.1.1 Build id 7.1.1.20090310, Date from Download-Page is 04/6/2009.Does not work …
support-joyMemberThorwarz,
Have you set the proxy here – Windows > Prefs > Pulse > Network Conn?
thorwarzMemberHi,
I did, but it did not help.
support-joyMemberthorwarz,
I have raised a ticket. I will have a pulse team member assist you with this issue. Sorry for the inconvinience.
support-joyMemberthorwarz,
Can you try one more thing? Besides entering proxy information is to try different connection modes.
1. You can try compatibility mode, which normally fixes up any problems with NTLM proxies.
2. If that doesn’t work, you can fall back completely to the JDK communication stack and see if that works. You’ll need to restart MyEclipse between the changes though, but those two options usually help folks that are still stuck with proxy issues. Let me know if this works for you.

thorwarzMemberHi,
both settings did not help …
estephensMemberWell, I had given up on MyEclipse 7.0 after many “try this”, “try that” responses from support proved to be nothing more than wild guesses. I just decided to give this thread another look this morning and saw thge suggestion from support-joy. I had already tried the Maximum Compatibility mode but today I tried switching the Communications Mode to Native Java and it seems to have worked. Hope this helps someone out there.
kilgorjnMemberThe Native Java setting in Communications Mode seems to have helped my proxy problem as well. Not to speculate, but the Native Java mode doesn’t use SSL (the other modes do). This by itself may be causing some of the proxy issues.
support-joyMemberestephens and kilgorjn,
Good to hear that the native java setting in communications mode worked for you. Thank you for taking time to reply to this post.
Thorwarz,
I don’t have any more suggestions for you. I need to revert back to the dev team. Can you please post this to pulse forums as well? Fresh pair of eyes helps sometimes. Sorry for the inconvinience.
Les HaydenMemberIt’s sad to see one of my favorite software products behave like this. After 3 hours of fiddling around with settings and having to wade through 80+ forum messages to find Support-Joy’s information that finally solved the problem. I had to use Native Java.
Is there some way you can put a summary of the proxy and Joy’s posting as one set of directions at the beginning of this thread? It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.
Regards,
Les
support-joyMemberThanks Les for the suggestion. I will add this post as a sticky.
jmaguireMemberThought I might add that it starting working when I set it to Native Java Network as well as having the proxy manually set in IE (read that Pulse does an auto detect on some forum).
If both are not set i run into connection refused issues (strange).
support-joyMemberjmaguire,
The reason, the proxy is detected when you manually set in IE is because by default under Window > Preferences > General Network Settings – Direct connection to the Internet is selected. If this is selected, pulse will automatically detect your proxy settings from IE.
jrmeyer_aspectaMemberHi,
is this issue fixed in the new version 7.5.
When I try to update pulse with my current version 7.0 (Build id: 7.0-20081201) via the MyEclipse Dashboard my internet connection is shut down and the download fails. So it seems there are still problems with pulse and proxies.
Best regards, Jochen.
