    Jochen,

    I would recommend you to install MyEclipse using all-in-one installer. Let me know how this goes?

    is this issue fixed in the new version 7.5.
    When I try to update pulse with my current version 7.0 (Build id: 7.0-20081201) via the MyEclipse Dashboard my internet connection is shut down and the download fails. So it seems there are still problems with pulse and proxies.

    All the proxy related issues have been resolved. Since you are facing an issue with 7.0, I would suggest you setup MyEclipse 7.5 from scratch and you should not face any such issues in the future.

    For your reference, here are the steps to uninstall your existing pulse install:-
    1. Run the uninstaller.
    2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
    2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under <USER.HOME>\AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
    3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under <USER.HOME> is erased as well

    I experienced the NTLM Proxy issue with 7.5 installed on Vista. Only setting it to Native Java mode fixed it. Very annoying thou.

    I had given up on the 7.0 version because of this issue and had gone back to using base Eclipse (no NTLM issues). Pulse just seems a bit of overkill to manage plugins for a solo developer.

    William,

    We had issues related to proxy in 7.0 which have since been addressed and resolved in 7.5. In case you are using eclipse, you can also add MyEclipse as a plugin and enjoy the features of ME within eclipse. To do that you need to make sure the eclipse installed is classic eclipse. Depending on the version of classic eclipse you need to add the MyEclipse plugin. For e.g. if you have classic eclipse 3.4.2 installed then you can add MyEclipse 7.5 as a plugin. Start Eclipse > Select Help > Software Updates > Available Software Tab > Add Site > Enter this URL http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/ganymede-latest/
    From there you just “Next” your way through the wizard and MyEclipse will be installed for you.

    Hahaha. The same issues others reported earlier in this thread happen to me with a FRESH install of 7.5…

    I also tried all the steps described above – deleting pulse files etc. The same issue – settings change every time MyEclipse is restarted.

    I’m not clear what’s wrong with your proxy — is some Pulse functionality breaking (updates/add software)? or is some IDE functionality failing, like remote XML Schema lookup?

    Could you please explain specifically what is the issue that you are facing. Im not sure what issue you are referring to.

    Hi,
    the error is still the same. I installed MyEclipse 7.5 on a new machine. But I could not get Subclipse due to connection problems.
    I cannot understand at all that this issue is not fixed.

    J,

    Sorry to hear that you are still facing this issue. Can you try this – from MyEclipse menu click on Window > Preferences > Pulse > Network Settings
    Add your proxy settings here. And set the Communications tuning to either Maximum compatibility or native java network connectivity.
    Let me know if this works for you.

    it seems not to work. I get always errors when I want to install mylyn or subclipse (at least subclipse was installable by downloading the zip file – but the proxy problem remains) from the internet.

    Can you copy paste your installation details here? Also can you please list out all the 3rd party plugins you have added to MyEclipse? This will help us determine if you are facing issues related to the 3rd party plugin. I will escalate this issue to one of our dev team members.
