Pre existing maven local repository gets corrupted frequently when we try to setup a new workspace and build the projects within myeclipse, during this process my eclipse complaint’s lots of missing jar files in the repository.

Once we clean out the local repository, my eclipse is able to build the projects successfully without any issues.

This issue happens only within My Eclipse, when we use maven build script we are not facing this kiind of behavior.

We are speculating this issue happens when developer’s working remotely using low band width.

    Hi djayaraman,

Can you give some more information to investigate your issue?
    1) Is the system where ME is installed have internet connection? In order to get Maven repository, the system needs internet to download.
    2) Are the check boxes in Maven preference page checked adjacent to “Download Repository index updates on startup”, “Download Artifacts Sources” and “Download Artifact Javadoc”. If not, can you check them and try creating a web project with Maven support? This may take few minutes to download Maven repository which depends on the Internet band width.
    3) Can you send a screen shot of your Maven preference page. Go to “Windows–>Preference–>MyEclipse–>Maven4MyEclipse–>Maven” and select Maven.
    4) Can you send me the screen shot of the error message?

    Thanks,
    Chakri Vedula.
