I’ve been following this thread with great intrest because I’m having nearly the same problem on Suse Linux 10.1. So, this problem is happening to others. If you like I can post my hs_err_pidNNN.log file here. Just as a preview, I’m using a:
    Dell Latitude D620 laptop
    4GB Memory
    Intel Centrion processor
Suse 10.1 with all of the latest patches
    Eclipse 3.2.1 with MyEclipse 5.0.1

We had this symptom too. Also, our install got so hosed up we couldn’t even open Eclipse any more. Lot’s of errors in the log indicating it couldn’t find various MyEclipse plugins, OSGi errors, etc.

We tried this 2 ways — using the Eclipse update facility to to to 3.2.1, and also just installing 3.2.1 and then MyEclipse 5.0.1. Neither was stable. Opening a JSP created by the wizard failed in both cases.

We’re on Windows XP for developer desktops….

Warning to all — MyEclipse 5.0.1 does not appear to be compatible with Eclipse 3.2.1!!

    kln,
We received your logs and a lot of headway has been made on fixing bugs and improving the stability of the JSP designer. It’s possible when the developer received your PID files, he simply used them to further his test cases and forget to either reply himself or tell one of us to reply to you.

Our 5.0.3 release should provide improved stability for you, it will be the 1st or 2nd week of Nov.

    kln,
I just got a message from our developer who PM’ed you a reply last week, he says you haven’t logged in and checked your PM messages as his reply is still sitting in his “Outbox”. Please look near the top of the screen, you should see “1 message” notice.
