Delay for “good reason” is one thing. Lack of communication or worse ignoring your customers is another.
Agreed.

We just want a prediction on release date,
They already did give us two target-dates, medio-Dec-2010 and another one I don’t remember. So, something got in the way, and that something is directly or indirectly by the socio-/psychological implications is still in the way. How could they communicate what they’re uncertain about? We forced them to say something, and they did two times, but they cut their own fingers in the process. That brings us back to the question, what is in the way? A complication! What complication? Something to speculate about, but even if they did say something, does it matter? NO RELEASE is the short-term result anyway. Everything should become clear as soon of they’re out of their semi-“Hell”. So, I’ll ride this one out. And see what’s coming. May the force be with them and us too.

and ignoring your customers just makes them lose trust in your product.
sigh… I feel you, but I feel them too… you should try that again, I know you did within a certain scope & context up until now… lets keep it up.[/i]
neydeMemberAs you may know, MyEclipse for Spring is joint product from Genuitec and Skyway Software. Each company is contributing different parts of ME4S. We had some difficulties in coordinating the release schedules for a ME4S milestone, and we ultimately decided to skip the ME4S milestone altogether. I’m apologize for the delay and lack of communication.
One of the reasons for the delay is that we’ve had a bit of scope creep. Based on some customer feedback, we’re doing some additional fine-tuning of some of our existing functionality and adding some features that weren’t originally planned.
The good news is that we’re really close. MyEclipse Pro is already GA, and we are in the last stages of testing for ME4S. We are aiming to release ME4S 9.0 next Tuesday or Wednesday.
neydeMemberMyEclipse for Spring 9.0 was released today. It’s available for immediate installation from installers (see download page), ME Pro add-on, and Pulse.
b4l4nc3rMemberBTW, GREAT JOB! It was worth the wait! I felt in this case it went without saying : )
PeterMemberAbsolutely! great work guys!!! keep up the good work! 🙂
jkennedyMemberThanks all,
We wanted to add that our delay in responding to the later posts on this thread was an unfortunate “miss” on my part rather than a willing lack of transparency. Thanks again,
Jack
vikramSRMemberI need to work on a version that supports Windows 7 / 64 bit and not the 32 bit version. I have already allocated 1756 RAM to the heap. I am currently getting “java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space” error. I can allocate more heap provided I install a 64 bit MyEclipse 9 installable. When will this version be available? Is there an earlier version that is 64 bit installable?
cconwayMemberThe 64 bit version is already available for download. The offline installer should detect that you are on a 64 bit machine and offer you the option of installing the 64 bit version.
jkennedyMemberAre you getting the PermGen space error when you start the tool or when you run a Server or some other “Run Configuration” from within the tooling?
The permgen space error is a common issue that can corrected by modifying the permgen space for the VM using the VMArgs for this attribute.
Here are a few good links:
http://www.freshblurbs.com/explaining-java-lang-outofmemoryerror-permgen-space
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/88235/how-to-deal-with-java-lang-outofmemoryerror-permgen-space-errorChanging the heap size does not correct the permGen space issue.
Let me know if this helps or if you still have issues.
Thanks,
