on Android Gingercomb – just get a ‘white screen’..

I have compiled some of my apps for Android. On an Gingerbread Android seems to work well.
on a 7″ tablet running Gingercomb, all apps just show a white screen and nothing more happens.

anyone know what to do about this? some setting in the Android?

    thanks..

    certainly…

    0) User info (email address you provided on Get Started wizard page)

    1) Are you behind a proxy? (Yes, No)
    no..

    2) Build ID
Android Build 1371587 (the latest simple test)

First I started with my big App that runs nicely on iphone that uses camera, notifications, mobiscroll, custom HTML, timers, jQuery, and lots of nice features in addition to the capabilities provided by MobiOne. Works great on any iPhone or Apple tablet. Testing, I simply compiled it for Android with MobiOne v2.0. On a Gingerbread android, works pretty well, except a couple of features – one being the camera (via PhoneGap). I discovered I have to use FILE_URI as opposed to DATA_URL. I do have one plain (no PhoneGap) page that doesn’t come up, but haven’t discovered why yet.. This is build 1367736.

But on a Gingercomb tablet, the Android build installs fine, but upon running just gives a ‘white screen’. So I built a very simple ‘hello world’ type app to see what might be the cause (1371587) and I still get just the ‘white screen’. So not all the special features are the problem..

    3) Did AppCenter complete successfully and return an application (.ipa file), (Yes, No)
YES – I get the .apk file.

    a) If No and an error log was returned please include it

    4) If your app will not install on your device we need:
    a) device model, examples: iphone4s, ipad 2, nexus S, …

changing this reply – does NOT install from URL. Does install from APK file.
installs from URL fine on OTHER android devices I have tested.
on this device (the URL loads), but results in a white browser screen (no action, no offer to install)
This behavior is NOT project specific – all projects – same problem.
Tried the built in browser and also Opera Mobile.

    b) Device UDID N/A for Android

    c) Device OS version: Agasio 7″ tablet (Dropad), Google Android 2.3,

    d) Size of your ipa or apk file if one was built but will not run: 582kb

    e) Installation method (over-the-air, iTunes, Play both)
    – if over-the-air (OTA) installation method fails for your iOS app please try iTunes installation
both attempted, but see 4a above… the provided HTTP link and moving the .apk file.

    .. so no ideas? 🙁

Is this related to the ‘white screen flicker’ problem?

    thanks

possible hint as to problem with this version of Android OS
I found on a forum regarding this device:

    – Many apps showed as imcompatible with this tablet (Netflix, Adobe Flash 11, etc…)
    – Many games were also imcompatible (GTA III, Madden 12, etc…)
    – Videos wouldn’t play due to Flash not being preinstalled as advertised.

After upgrading, most, if not all market apps are compatible. GTA III, Madden 12, and Need for Speed run great. Flash videos work just fine.

Is there something underlying compiled apps that this would be similar too?
I would not think FLASH would be involved.
If I know what is needed, I can tell my users how to resolve for this issue.

We are also facing issue with the flash player, and not able to check the videos on the mobione plat form

Please let me know if anyone have found any solution for this issue.

    Hi Sarvesh,

The Test Center will not play video. This is a known limitation. You should test your videos directly in device.
