IdeawebMemberHello Support!
Im really in need of help here!
Im in need of opening a local file (PDF) into the Popup window function, this means i get the Back button and the scaling controls.
The Popup window gives me error while trying to load a file on the iphone itself. It works if i host the PDF online, but thats not what i need… I need some JScode or another working solution to fix this. Thank you in advance
support-michaelKeymasterUse of a relative URL for gotoURL(popup) action is not supported at this time. This improvement is high on the todo list.
IdeawebMemberThank you for replying Wayne.
Without making any promises, do you have an estimate on when this feature will be available?
We are currently dealing with a customer who needs his PDF book inside the app, and usage of this popup function gives us back btn and scaling options. We honestly dont know how to achieve this otherwise.
Thank you in advance..
support-michaelKeymasterWe understand the inconvenience from the lack of local/relative URL support in the popup window. We will be discussing this in detail this Thurs. Thereafter I hope we can provide a timeline for availability.
IdeawebMemberHi Wayne.
This is very comforting to hear. We cannot wait to use this function and satisfy our customer. Really looking forward to the update. Hope it wont take too long, as our delivery deadline is coming close already.
Thank you in advance.
IdeawebMemberThursday passed. Any update regarding this issue ?
Thank you in advance
support-michaelKeymasterYes, development has started. I don’t have an eta on availability yet. Will update once I learn more.
support-octavioMemberHi Ideaweb,
Update:
We are now testing loading a local or relative URL in the GotoURL’s popup window. This improvement should be available next week (knock on wood) as part of the MobiOne 2.2 release with new iPhone5 device support.
TulsaboyMemberIs this possible yet? I would also like to have the pdf file embedded in the app so internet access is not required to read it.
If so, please post an example of a relative URL that would work.
Thanks!
IdeawebMemberHello Tulsaboy!
Yes this has been fixed by Mobione support team.
Place your Local PDF inside the www folder which is created when running testcenter..
Now just make a imagebtn or text link and pick “GO TO URL” Then pick Popup (no controls) is my advice.
Good luck, if any questions feel free to ask..

Alternatively we recommend that you attach the pdf to your main design file using the “Additional Files” property.
TulsaboyMemberThank you for your response! This is a great help! I did need to go back and check that file to include it when building the app. I just entered the file name in the go to URL area and it worked.
Thanks!
