It would be nice if there was an option to disable the Spring feature error for bean overrides. I’m purposefully overriding some bean definitions in my project and it would be nice to be able to turn off the “Overrides another bean within config set ‘xxxx'” problem error.

    Mike,
Is overriding considered an error normally?

I see it more as a warning for people. It does not produce an error in Spring but some people may accidentally do it and experience unexpected results. In my situation I’m using it purposefully.

I would think the optimal solution would be to change the override error to a warning and allow the user to turn it off if they want.

    Mike,
We may wait for SpringIDE group to integrate this functionality as we try and avoid forking as much as possible when we integrate a product so we can kick changes back easily (minus all the integration work we do). If this is so much of a problem that you cannot work, we can certainly look into it.
