I just downloaded the 7.0 M1 and when installing it on a Vista x64 installation I get the following error:

“The following error occured on the file ‘C:\Users\PorkLip\AppData\Local\MyEclipse 7.01M1 eclipse\dropins\myeclipse\eclipse\plugin\org.eclipse.wst.ws.explorer_1.0.305.zmyeclipse69100200808\org\eclipse\wst\ws\internal\platform\favorites\actions\SelectFavoritesUserDefUDDIRegisteryNodeAction.class’

The system cannot find the path specified.
    (0x3)”

Have anyone else been able to install 7.0 M1 on a Vista x64?

Ah, just tried, same here, even with UAC turned off 🙁
After selecting Ignore, the next error message on the same file is “The filename or extension is too long”, so maybe installing in a different from default folder (C:\ME70m1) gives a better experience…

Ok, that works better, just change the install location to something shorter than the default (cut out the C:\Users\<username>\appdata\local part) avoids the above message.

    Thanks!

It would be nice if the installer could prevent this and at least not suggest a path that will lead to this error.

I had the same “The filename or extension is too long” problem on Windows XP x64. Shortening the install path fixed the problem as well.
