    JDK: 1.4.2_05
    Eclipse: 3.0
    MyEclipse: 3.8.1+QF20040825

I’m starting MyEclipse with the following line:

    eclipse.exe -vmargs -DproxySet=true -DproxyHost=proxy.vegvesen.no -DproxyPort=8080

But it is unable to download http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/dtds/validator_1_1.dtd (and other external resources) and fails with a “connect: time out”.

This used to work when running 3.8 Beta 2.

    Anders,

Have you tried entering that information on the proxy page at Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Internet Tools > Internet Proxy also?

If it continues to be problematic, you can always download whatever dtd’s you need and add them as user XML catalog entries at Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Editors > XML > XML Catalog also. This will avoid any kind of remote lookup.

    Doh!

Didn’t need to do that earlier. 🙂 That’s the problem with the settings in Eclipse, there’s too many. You don’t see the obvious ones.

    Thanks,

    Anders,

I understand completely. Glad all is well.
