mst98subMemberThe settings in “Preferences/General/Network Connections” are automatically reset to “System proxy configuration (if available)” on every restart of MyEclipse.
Is this a pulse problem?
Before having started the pulse explorer the first time after installing a new MyEclipse Blue 7.0 instance the situation was the oppsite around. All attempts to run “Check for updates” failed, because our proxy settings were ignored and automatically reset to “Direct connection to the internet”.
Loyal WaterMembermst98sub,
This is a known issue that the dev team is already working on. I’m sorry you ran into this issue. We will try to fix this asap.
cperrotMemberany news on this issue? i’m having this as well.
regards
Loyal WaterMemberI’m afraid the dev team is still working on this issue. It has not been resolved yet. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
mst98subMemberHi Nipun,
as stated in another thread, the “proxy reset issues” should meanwhile be solved by a Pulse Explorer Update.
So I have updated my MyEclipse Blue Edition 7.0 installation to 7.1.
But the problem still exisits in 7.1.Could you please help me to solve the proxy problem?
Do I have to uninstall my updated MyEclipse 7.0(1) and reinstall MyEclipse 7.1 from scratch from http://www.myeclipseide.com/module-htmlpages-display-pid-4.html?thx,
Mathias
Loyal WaterMemberMathias,
Good News … we have a patch coming out for pulse this friday and that should resolve this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.
harrygMemberFriday has passed – where can we find the patch?
Loyal WaterMemberHi,
You have to get the “Pulse Services” update from the dashboard (MyEclipse > Manage MyEclipse Plugins) , then you can go to Window > Prefs > Pulse > Network Settings, and from there you can setup everything.
harrygMemberFunny idea – how can I update via pulse when pulse cannot pass the proxy?!? Like chasing your own tail…
Meanwhile I installed Ganymede with MyEclipse as plugin from the archived update site.
Works fine, loads and runs a lot faster and contains no pulse – I’m happy again.
This is the only real solution. Goodbye all-in-one-MyEclipse…
Loyal WaterMemberFunny idea – how can I update via pulse when pulse cannot pass the proxy?!?
The issue that I was talking about was the proxy config you entered was being reset when MyEclipse restarts. When you enter the config, the proxy works and the values are saved till the IDE is restarted.
Anyway, Im glad you found a solution to the problem you were facing.
mst98subMemberIn MyEclipse Blue Version 7.1.1 there is still a bug concerning the proxy settings (Windows/Pfeferences/General/Network Connection) and MyEclipse restart.
When I disable the proxy by selecting “Direct Connection” and restart MyEclipse, the settings are automatically reset to manual proxy or system default.
nsouleMemberA number of users at my company are also continuing to see this issue in Blue 7.1.1. We are trying to keep it set at manual, but it often (though not always) resets to System.
Loyal WaterMembernsoule,
You need to go to Window > Prefs > Pulse > Network Settings and set the proxy information there. That should resolve the issue.
nsouleMemberHi Nipun, I checked and the settings seem to be present there already. I had never seen that screen so I’m assuming either it was populated there via the settings in General->Network Connections, or when I was prompted for proxy/user/pass at some point. In either case, even this morning when I restarted the IDE I had to reset the settings in General->Network Connections. Is there anything else I can try to stop the settings from being lost when I close the IDE?
Thanks very much.
