This issue has been filed in our tracking system and is actively being investigated. I will followup with any findings the developers make.
You know, the other thing that I’ve noticed is that the preferences for web browser on linux don’t seem to change anything. If I switch between internal, mozilla, konqueror or my own definition for firefox I can see no apparent difference in behaviour!

Software Updates work through the firewall.Window-Preferences-Install/Update has proxy settings that work!
