sabujo2000MemberHi there,
I would like to propose a “simple” feature (at user´s point of view): allow to use MyEclipse Struts Editor / Modeller without having to create a WEB-based project. You guys can think this is insane, but we already have developed a lot of applications with eclipse (even we have a lot of walkthroughs) and they are all just “java projects”. Actually, web projects is a ME concept, not eclipse himself.
I believe the ME struts config editor is awesome, but would be great if we could use it in our own projects (wherever it is).Can this be done? Does anyone else think this is a good idea?
Thanks again for yout time,
Clayton Fonseca

Riyad KallaMemberClayton,
The flow modeller realizes on an uncountable amount of context information about your Forms, Actions, Forwards, Exceptions, JSP pages and tiles… having a Struts-enabled Web Project provides a structured mechanism by which the modeller can have access to and manipulate all this information, without that, the modeller would need to be redesigned as a stand alone editor which would take more time than any of us have to offer.Sorry.
sabujo2000MemberOk. I understand that… But the only diference between ME web-projects and my Java projects is the presence of the WebRoot folder. I hava a WEB-INF, lib, src, bin and so on folders and files….
Actually what I need is to create a project without having to create a “WebRoot” folder…
Final word: while ME web project puts all files in the webroot folder, my “java” projects does the same thing directly to the root folder…
Even that way, still you dont believe to be possible to use MyEclipse Struts Editor / Modeller without having to create a WEB-based project?Give me good news, please….

sabujo2000MemberJust to complete my previous post….
When I migrate my projects to a ME web project, a just copy all my files/folder to the webrrot folders and it works fine! Is WebRoot really necessary?
Eliminating this webroot folder, all my problems will go away!!!!Clayton Fonseca
Riyad KallaMemberGive me good news, please….
Actually the request of making the Project folder the WebRoot folder is getting more and more popular and is an open enhancement request. I will see if we can increase the priority of this feature as a lot of people wnat it.
Riyad KallaMemberClayton,
I checked on this enhancement, and its marked in our internal system as Priority 1, which means, I was told, “it WILL get done”, but I can’t quote a time frame for you just yet. I’ll update this thread if I get more info.
sabujo2000MemberThank you very much for your attention,
Would be great to use that. All of you guys from ME are very helpfull. 😀
Thank you again!
Clayton
