I open MyEclipse 8.5 on WixXP SP3, create a new workspace, open REST Web Services Explorer, go to some URL. REST Web Services Explorer says “The proxy server you have configured could not be found. Please check your proxy settings and try again.” but I don’t have any proxy server configured at all. Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections shows Active Provider: Direct, and all proxy settings clear (the default settings). MyEclipse web browser opens the same URL with no problem. There is no proxy server set in XP Control Panel > Internet Options. And there is no proxy server on my home network. What gives?

I tried to replicate your problem in several ways with the mentioned configuaration setup, but I couldn’t able to replicate it.I would suggest you to perform restore defaults(Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections>Restore Defaults>Apply>OK).

Can you please send your log file details located at workspace dir > .metadata > .log
