has this been fixed in one of these hotfixes I installed in today (I just re-installed myeclipse 6.0)?

Aaron,
I never saw your followup for some reason.

You *could* try removing that designer plugin from the MyEclipse/eclipse/plugins dir if you absolutely want to kill it off… I’m not sure of the ramifications of that though as I’ve never tried it, and not supported.

This should be fixed and released very shortly in 6.0.1. You can open your <workspace dir>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.ui.workbench\workbench.xml file and set the activePart to false for the editor that keeps opening up to try and stop it from loading.
