As soon as I upgraded to 7.1 I have hit all sorts of problems that render the eclipse environment completely unusable. I have tried deleting my installation and re-installing. No help.

I just upgraded to the 7.1.1 release hoping that it would solve the problems and it has not.

    What gives with this release?

    Jim,
Can you please give me some more information about where you are facing this issue. How can I reproduce this issue at my end?

This could be an issue related to your installation because I haven’t seen other 7.1.1. users complain of any such issue.

Can you go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details and paste the information here for me.

I wiped my installation this weekend because of the problems and re-installed Ganymede by itself. I will install the version of MyEclipse 7.1 that installs into an existing Ganymede and get back to you via the forum. This may take me a few days to get back to you. Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Sure, no problem.

I laid down the latest version of Ganymede and unzipped it to a new location and processed all of its updates in a new workspace. Then I used the update site to install MyEclipse 7.1. I also made my default JDK a 6.0 version from Sun. So far all is working well. Don’t know what happened before except maybe some updates didn’t get installed correctly between Ganymede and MyEclipse 7.0 to 7.1.

    Regards,
    Jim
