Mickey BartonParticipantAre these availlable in 8.0 as stated? I have not been able to find out to launch them if they are.
If they are not available in 8.0 when will they be available?
support-joyMembermlbartonsr,
I am not sure I understand you correctly. Are you referring to the web and ejb modules? If yes, then these are available in ME 8.0. You can create standalone web and ejb modules.
Mickey BartonParticipantI am refering to the the reference on myeclipse’s website to Standalone Modules A.K.A. Standalone Features.
On this page it refers to these.

Other recent enhancements
Standalone Features
• Database Tooling
• UML Tools
• Profiler
• Matisse4MyEclipse
support-joyMembermlbartonsr, ,
Yes the above mentioned support is available on ME 8.0
1. Database Tooling. – This consists of of SQL Editor, SQL Query builder, Browser, explorer, etc
From MyEclipse IDE menu options click on Window > Open Perspective > MyEclipse Database Explorer. This will display DB Browser, SQL Editor, etc.
2. UML Tools. You can create UML Model files using File > New > Other > MyEclipse > UML > UML1 Model / UML2 Model
3. Profiler – Right click on any project. Choose Profile As > MyEclipse Server Applications. Choose the relevant server. This will prompt you to select the profiling mode – performance or memory. Click on [OK]. This will launch the Visual VM profiler.
4. Matisse4MyEclipse – You can set your Matisse4MyEclipse preferences here – from MyEclipseIDE menu options click on Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Matisse4MyEclipse/Swing. Next to create a Matisse form, click on New > Matisse Form ClassAlso refer – http://www.myeclipseide.com/module-htmlpages-display-pid-7.html
Mickey BartonParticipantI know you can access these features from inside of MyEclipse. What I am wanting to know is if you can run them independantly. Like we could in ME6.0 with the SNAP’s feature of ME6.0.
support-joyMembermlbartonsr,
Yes, MyEclipse Standalone modules can be accessed from the MyEclipse update site or for the pulse users out there, they can be easily searched for and Drag-and-dropped from the Software Catalog into any software profile they have configured. Mentioned below are steps to add the standalone modules using pulse.
1. Open Pulse, if you don’t have pulse, you can download the same from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
2. Login to pulse. You can also login anonymously.
3. If you have an IDE which is based on Eclipse, you can add the standalone modules to this IDE.
4. For e.g I use the “Eclipse 3.5 – Galileo” realm from the top left hand corner dropdown
5. I expand and select – Ready to Use Profiles > Popular. Run the Eclipse 3.5 Classic from right hand pane.
6. Next Expand and select Add-on Software > Browse Categores > Database > MyEclipse Database Tools. Drag and drop MyEclipse Database Tools to Eclipse 3.5 Classic under My Profiles
7. Similarly you can add MyEclipse UML 1 / 2 Visual Design Tools
8. You can use the search option under browse categories to search for Matisse. And add MyEclipse Visual Swing Designer (Windows / Linux Only) to your Eclipse profile
9. Similarly search for Java Profiler under Browse Categoris and add MyEclipse VisualVM Profiler to your Eclipse Profile/ Eclipse based IDE
10. Notice Everytime you drag and drop a standalone module, pulse prompts you that the software is added.
11. Once you are done adding all the required standalone modules, you can click on the Eclipse based IDE under My Profiles. Under Pending Changes, it will list you managed changes. Next click on the button [Apply x changes]. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps.Best.
Mickey BartonParticipantThank you for your help with this.
Best regards,
Mickey L. Barton, Sr.
