I am at Spring One this week and i must say that I have been blown away by STS! Not only is it available for FREE now but it is just amazing if you’re building applications with Spring technologies. I saw so many demos with STS at SpringOne and watched many applications be built in minutes via Roo (if you haven’t seen Roo yet you need to check it out!) and STS. The integration of STS with tcServer is a huge win. And the integration with the Amazon EC2 Eclipse plugins was spectacular. Deploying an application from the local tcServer to the cloud with such simplicity is just incredible. Also, the productivity in editing Spring XML files with STS is hands down better than anything I’ve seen. I also saw some demos of using AJDT and it works very well now – yay!

So, when will MyEclipse bundle the latest Spring IDE tooling? I’d love to begin using the features as soon as possible.

Thank you for the enthusiastic update. We are looking at a refresh in the 8.x release.

There’s a thread in the features request area for this. You can go add your voice to the request and maybe the feature will make it into the product.
