trauts2MemberI’m running MEB 10.7.1. I have tried installing the IBM server tools from https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/blogs/wasdev/entry/download_wdt?lang=en, which supposedly work with Eclipse 3.7.2 and I hoped MEB. The install doesn’t work though, there are version conflicts. I’m also not clear how to configure the MEB server tools to work with 8.5 Liberty Profile.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks!
Stu
support-swapnaModeratorStu,
I am afraid I have not worked on the Liberty profile yet. We support WAS 8.5 full profiles.
Can you try pointing the WAS 8.5 Liberty profile under Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Servers > Websphere-Blue Connectors > Websphere 8.5? Give in the details for the Liberty profile and check if it works.
Let us know how it works for you.
BCBS-ILMemberWhen you point the WAS 8.5 connector to the liberty profile home, it displays as an invalid home directory.
support-swapnaModeratorAdam,
The dev team is working on a new connector to support the Liberty profile. We will let you know the timeline once we hear from the team.
Sorry for inconvenience caused.
BCBS-ILMemberThank you for your reply, I will watch for communications indicating the WAS liberty connector availability.
BCBS-ILMember“WebSphere Application Server Developer Tools for Eclipse Juno V8.5.5” is designed for Eclipse IDES to connect to WAS v8.5.5. and Liberty Profile.
I am attempting to integrate these components into MyEclipse Blue Secure 2013 SR1.
But once the runtime is loaded, the server profile instance does not appear in the “servers” view.
Please see attached screenshot.[/img]
support-swapnaModeratorAdam,
Our next release which is expected to be out in a month, will have the new connector for Liberty Profile.
To get it working in MEB 2013, you need to enable the deprecated WTP capabilities. Go to Windows > Preferences > General > Capabilities > Advanced > MyEclipse Standard Tools. Check ‘WTP Deprecated’ and ‘WTP Extras’. Apply the changes.
Now switch to WTP Perspective to see the WTP Servers view. When you try to define a new server under WTP Servers, you will see the WAS V8.5 Liberty Profile listed under IBM. Select it and follow the wizard.
Here is the screenshot for your reference :I tried to install “WebSphere Application Server Developer Tools for Eclipse Juno V8.5.5” on MyEclipse Blue 2013 SR2 and I ended up seeing dependency conflicts. I then tried “Websphere Application Server v8.5.5 Liberty Profile Developer Tools for Eclipse Juno’ and installed only the WAS Liberty Profile Tools (Unchecked the other components.)
Let us know how it works for you.
BCBS-ILMemberSwapna,
Yes, this solution is fully functional. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to the new release of MyEclipse Blue as well.
support-swapnaModeratorAdam,
Glad that you got it working.
