mwilliamsonMemberWhen I updated to the latest version 10.6 the Sync-on-Demand stoped working. I have used this for years on dozens of web projects.
I created a new project and Sync-on-Demand doesn’t work with it ether. Is this an option now? if so where is it?.
I use a local tomcat 6 server.
Hear is my Installation Details

support-pradeepMembermwilliamson,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue with MyEclipse.
Can you answer some more questions for us ?
1) Can you clarify if you are using exploded deployment, that you are starting the server in Debug mode ? If you are using the Servers view to launch Tomcat and are selecting “Run”, you need to stop it and select “Debug”… the server has to be running in Debug mode.
2) Can you switch to a new workspace, create a new project with sample java files and check if the hot deployment is working ? It might also be a workspace/cache issue.
3) Check the timestamp on your project to see if the Class file timestamps are changing.
4) Can you please clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log, replicate the issue and copy paste the entire error message here for us to investigate further.
mwilliamsonMemberSorry about the delay I was put on another project.
1) Yes my tomcat 7 server is setup for Debug.
2) I created a new Workspace and still get this problem.
3) Class File dates do not change.
4) There is nothing in the log file after I save a changed Java file.
I do get this pop up when I save a Java file.
Hot Code Replace Failed
with a this as the reason: Delete method not implemented.
Is the delete method something on the server, eclipse or MyEclipse?
support-pradeepMembermwilliamson,
1) Can you please clarify what version of the JDK are you using to run both MyEclipse and Tomcat? They should be the same for maximum compatibility for hot code replacement since this is handled exclusively at the JDK level. I’d recommend trying to launch both MyEclipse and Tomcat with the latest release of JDK to see if the behavior is different.
2) Did you switch “Project->Build Automatically” off? Hot code replacement works (only?) if automatic build is switched on.
3) Can you please try deploying your application in MyEclipse Tomcat and check if you can still replicate the issue ?
Let us know how it works for you.
