    Hi,
I want to test the product before buying it,
I have installed it in win7 32 bit and the entire installation process went well.
but when I lunch it, I get an error pointing me to the log.
I have attached the log file

Can someone instruct me how to solve the problem
(I made a contact yesterday but i did not get a response yet).

    Thanks!

    fatNjazzy,

Sorry that you are running into this issue.

Can you please clarify some more questions:
    1) Can you share your build id from Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench > Build Id ? Paste the build id here.
    2) How did you install MyEclipse for Spring ? Is it through Offline installer / from Pulse.
    3) If it was an offline installer, does the MD5 match. If it doesn’t please download again.
    4) In any case try a reinstall/repair.

Let me know how this works for you.

    2. I downloaded the 16MB custom installation.

    fatNjazzy,

You have not clarified if you have validated the md5sum of the downloaded installer matches that mentioned in the download site?

    Custom Installer: ~ 16mb
    MD5: 432844f3c7d073ffad63a89b4585d660

Yes I have gone through the attached .log file. The issues logged indicate that the downloaded installer is either corrupted / incomplete.
I would recommend you download using pulse. Please follow below steps –
    1. Download pulse from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
    2. Login to pulse
    3. Select “Eclipse – Helios” realm from top left hand corner dropdown
    4. Expand and click on – Ready to use profiles > Popular
    5. From the right hand pane right click on MyEclipse for Spring 9.1 and click on [install and run]
    6. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps

Let me know how this works for you.

I have almost the same problem on Win XP 32 bit. I downloaded the latest installer yesterday which then downloaded a lot of data while doing the installation. Presumably it was using Pulse to do this in the background.

Per your suggestion Joy I downloaded the free edition of Pulse 4.0 and used the anonymous access option to do the install. BTW – there is no “install and run” link in Pulse – you have to click the icon that looks like a play button next to the profile you wish to install.

It said it worked, but the same problem arises. My log is attached FYI

MyEclipse sure looks interesting, but it’s proving hard to install and trial. I suspect this is not an isolated incident.

    GlennL,

Can you tell me how you are launching the software? Are you launching it from the Pulse Explorer or from the shortcut that it created? Can you try to launch it from Pulse Explorer – If you do – any issues in the installation should be corrected before the launch. You can also try to right click the item and choose “Reinstall & Run” to force it to reset the configuration (though this should not be required)

Did you also try using the custom installer prior to using Pulse? Another alternative is to download the offline installer – it’s large but ultimately all methods will lead to the download of the same amount of data.

Launching from Pulse results in the same error.

If by custom installer you mean the one on your web site then yes. Once I started it it took several hours to download and install all of the components.

From what fatNjazzy said, it sounds like the offline installer has the same problem. If I can find time I might give it a go, but unfortunately my experience of the installer has given me second thoughts about your product. Hopefully you will take this as useful feedback.

    Thanks for trying Brian

    Glenn,

Sorry, I keep forgetting this because it is a newer option with the 9.x series – but if you simply re-run the custom installer (or the offline installer), it will give you the option to install another profile or repair your existing profile. You can use either option to get to a corrected state. This will not involve further downloads, just a correction of your installation metadata.

Your feedback is certainly noted, I wouldn’t be too happy with this experience either.
