I went to Project / Properties / MyEclipse, and hit “Update” in the Java statistics section, and was surprised to find a new .settings file created: com.genutiec.eclipse.core.prefs — it created this instead of updating the (proper) existing file com.genuitec.eclipse.core.prefs. ME 2016 CI4.

MyEclipse 2016 CI 6 release is out. It contains the fix for the Typo issue you reported. Please update to CI 6 from Help > Check for Updates and let us know how it works for you.
