tzundelMemberHello MyEclipse,
I’m on MyEclipse 7.1.1 (With no plugins, or anything 3rd party at all)… Installation details included below.
From the “start page” this morning, I chose “Manage Plugins -> Check for Updates”
It ‘churned’ for a few seconds, and then responded with an error dialog:
The title is “Update Site Problems”
The contents of the box are “The following sites reported problems:” With a box containing a single line: “http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench7.0/updates/supporting: No repository found at http://downloads/myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/7.0/updates/supporting”.
Finally, it says “These problems may cause the profile to fail to launch or just have features missing. Do you want to proceed with the launch anyway?”
The buttons are Yes/No … (I clicked the little red-x in the upper right corner).
Whats going on? Is your “update site” down? Or is this perhaps some problem with my setup?
Installation details:

support-joyMembertzundel,
Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. We had server issues on 22nd, which were restored since. I have ME 7.1.1 on XP, I am unable to reproduce this issue at my end.
Thank you for providing the installation details. Can you get to pulse2.properties file? It should be located under your MyEclipse installation – common folder. Look for \Genuitec\Common\configuration\pulse2.properties. Open pulse2.properties file and can you copy and paste pulse.handshake.id, this will help me look into our server logs for any failures.
Can you look into your error log file and see if you can find anything useful? It should be located at [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.logs
tzundelMemberHi Joy,
I tried again this morning and received the same error messages:
I have two different pulse2.properties files. I have included the requested information in both of these files below:
c:\Program Files\Genuitec/Common/configuration/pulse2.properties:
pulse.handshake.id=8335926e-b535-46cc-98ff-899941be4909C:\Program Files\Genuitec_new/common/configuration/pulse2.properties:
pulse.handshake.id=ebeaee2b-b120-4db7-a4cb-4cc7505a9481I assume its using the “Genuitec_new” directory, but am not sure: that’s why I included both. The reason there is a “Genuitec_new” is because a short while ago, I accepted a “Pulse” upgrade, and it completely hosed MyEclipse (It wouldn’t even start). I went on a support call with Riyad and Tim, and we installed a ‘fixed’ version into ‘Genuitec_new”. We kept “Genuitec” around, so we could compare the old stuff to the new stuff.
Also, I don’t have the [worksapce dir]/.metadata/.logs directory. However, I do have a [workspace dir]/.metadata/.log file. I checked it, and found nothing interesting or that seemed to apply. (As a matter of fact, it didn’t log anything at all when I tried again. If this is not the correct file, please let me know, I’ll be happy to check whatever file you point me to.
Thanks,
Tory
support-joyMemberTory,
Thank you for providing me with your pulse.handshake.id. I did a lookup on our server logs for errors. And I found that you had experienced errors on 21, 22, 26, twice on 27 and twice on 28 May. I am very sorry for that. If you look at the error –
This refers to eworkbench7.0.
I have escalated this to the dev team members to investigate why 7.1.1 update is referring to 7.0. I will get back to you on this. Can you tell me what is the update you chose to install in MyEclipse7.1.1, if you can give the name of the update and its version, it will help us narrow the search and track it faster.
The quick fix would be, if you could launch the pulse-explorer manually. You should be able to find this under your MyEclipse installation directory,C:\Program Files\Genuitec_new\MyEclipse 7.1\myeclipse.exe
My guess is that you should be able to find it here – C:\Program Files\Genuitec_new\Pulse Explorer\pulse-explorer.exe
Please open pulse explorer. You can login as anonymous, click on MyProfiles. It will list you your MyEclipse profiles. Right click on the profile with issue and click [Install and Run]/[Re-install and Run]. Pulse will automatically resolve any dependency conflict.Let me know if this works for you.
tzundelMemberHi Joy,
Okay, I’ve launched “Pulse Explorer”, clicked on Anonymous, and let it churn for a few minutes…
I’ve found “My Profiles”, there is a thing under that called “MyEclipse 7.1” — I assume this is what you mean when you say “Right click on the profile with issue”. I’ve clicked ‘reinstall and run”, and its now churning again.
Okay, so on to your question: You asked what is the update I chose to install: The answer is *NONE*. I clicked on “Check for updates”… I received the error while checking to see if any updates were available.
I’ll get back to you and let you know if the pulse reinstall thing works.

tzundelMemberHello Joy,
Okay, pulse has “done its thing”. I seem to now have a functional MyEclipse that doesn’t error when I “check for updates”. (Minimal testing, simply opening a couple of projects, and doing a quick smoke-test)
Thanks,
tzundel
support-joyMembertzundel,
Good to hear that pulse has resolved conflicting dependencies for you and you have a functional ME 7.1.1
